The RavensThe museum of unusual artworks of Lausanne presents two artists from overseas :
Gregory L. Blackstock September 30, 2011- February 19, 2012 Crows, pianos, insects or state prisons: Gregory L. Blackstock catalogues the world into pictorial lists : objects, plants or animals. A restaurant dishwasher, Gregory L. Blackstock (1946) is an autistic savant who took up drawing at the age of forty. Currently retired, he lives in Seattle, USA.
Guo Fengyi November 18, 2011- April 29, 2012 Guo Fengyi’s majestic paintings are like poetic banners. Several meters large, her scrolls present historic or ancestral and divine figures whose faces emerge from subtly interlacing lines of unparalleled delicacy and refinement. The artistic production of the Chinese creator Guo Fengyi (1942-2010) dates from 1989, when she began resorting to metaphysical contemplation

Famous people who chose Lausanne:
Coco Chanel (1883-1971)

Coco ChanelThe legendary Paris couturier came to live in Lausanne after the Second World War. She spent a number of years at the Hôtel Beau-Rivage before buying a property in the hills of Lausanne, near Sauvabelin, in 1966. She was fond of the Pomme de Pin and La Bossette restaurants in the “old town” and continued to frequent the salons of the Beau-Rivage. Coco Chanel lived in Lausanne until her death in January 1971. She is buried in the Bois-de-Vaux cemetery and her grave is covered with white camellias, symbolic of her creations
