Green tourism, an alternative
Three municipal wine-growing estates offer rooms or table d'hôte, reception rooms and designated areas for the tasting and sale of their wines: Château Rochefort in Allaman, the Le Burignon estate in Saint-Saphorin and the Abbaye de Mont in
Mont-sur-Rolle. It is worth mentioning that integrated production methods of cultivation have been used since 1996 in the vineyards owned by the City of Lausanne, out of respect for the environment.
For townies, the Lausanne Guesthouse (a short walk from the railway station), opened in 2001, offers individual rooms and dormitories in a building renovated in line with Minergie standards and the hotel's energy supply is guaranteed to be green
by the city's industrial services.
