A cruise on Lake Geneva
The largest lake in Europe – facing Mont Blanc, the highest summit in Europe – is on your doorstep! To sail on Lake Geneva is to be face-on to the Alps, following the vineyards along the shoreline, its castles and the Jura mountains, passing the fabulous Yvoire, a medieval town, or even skimming past Geneva’s Jet d’Eau fountain. In short, it is beautiful!
An open-air cinema
There will be free screenings from 9.30pm or 10pm at the Mon Repos park in the centre of Lausanne every Saturday from 27 June to 29 August. This year the Italians will be taking centre stage, with The Caiman by Nanni Moretti and Il Divo by Paolo Sorrentino among others. After 7pm, don’t forget the terrace at the Folie-Voltaire restaurant, located in the middle of the park, for a light seasonal meal, all fresh from the market, as well as drinks and artisanal ice creams. All systems go, as they say.
Music in the park
For electro sounds, don’t miss the festival les Digitales at Denantou park in Lausanne, opposite Lake Geneva, on 15 August.
For jazz lovers, les concerts du Onze+ are being held at Montbenon park every Tuesday at 9pm from 15 July to 19 August.
These concerts and entry to them are free, you just have to come and find a spot to sit on the grass.
