Bejart Ballet Lausanne
Béjart Ballet Lausanne: a company that tours the world, surprises, moves and attracts the most diverse audiences since 1987.
A man, a work piece, a company. Béjart Ballet Lausanne is the instrument of a principal choreographer of the twentieth century. There are only few examples of such a symbiosis between a choreographer, his repertoire and his cast.
For twenty-five years, the Béjart Ballet Lausanne diffuses Maurice Béjart’s choreography worldwide. Forty-one dancers from 22 countries, strongly dedicated to the Maestro’s style, and who, due to hundreds of performances, are experiencing the appreciation from an ever changing audience, receiving applause each year, from country to country, from one theatre to another. La Fenice, the Royal Albert Hall, Bolchoï or Colôn.
14 to 16 June and 20 and 21 June 2017
For the first time at the Théâtre de Beaulieu, this masterly spectacle is, in the words of Maurice Béjart: "an extravaganza that transports us into the pure poetry of childhood and genius, then, and more particularly, a precise, rigorous, inspired ritual." Alternating magical and comical scenes, this ballet is a faithful stage production of Mozart’s score and loses none of its elevated philosophical message.
This Lausanne event is part of the celebrations for the year 2017, marking thirty years of the Béjart Ballet Lausanne and ten years since the death of Maurice Béjart.
