La Verità - Compagnie Finzi Pasca
To discover: room „Métropole“ in Lausanne
After three productions for the Cirque Éloize, a baroque spectacle for the Cirque du Soleil and a grand fresco dedicated to Chekhov, the Tessin designer and producer Daniele Finzi Pasca – winner of the Hans Reinhardt Ring – presents “La Verità”, a new show.
An immense expanse of tulle painted by Dali in 1944 in New York to serve as the backdrop to the ballet “Mad Tristan”. Having vanished from circulation and never been shown since then, this work reappeared once more on Christmas Day 2010. The owner of the tulle, a European foundation, contacted Daniele Finzi Pasca to suggest putting on a show incorporating this monumental work of art, which measures 15 by 9 metres.
This unexpected gift has inspired him to create a circus show that is both grandiose and intimate, exploring acrobatics, dreams and surrealism.
On stage, 12 artists pass each other by, meet up and intermingle over the course of twenty or so scenes where the surrealist spirit of Dali comes alongside the circus arts.
