Midnight concert in the Cathedral - 31 December 2016 at 10.45pm
Before the Cathedral is lit up at midnight, Jean-Christophe Geiser
(the Cathedral’s organist) and Stefano Faggioni perform a special “Fireworks programme" on the great organ.The programme will be a surprise, but it will finish with a transcription of Ravel’s Boléro for four hands, in collaboration with Stefano Faggioni. From 11.00pm, the “Amis de la Cité” invite you to their stall proposing champagne, mulled wine, tea and apple juice on the Cathedral’s Esplanade.

Theatre and opera
7 to 31 December 2016
Conception: Stefania Pinnelli and Denis Correvon. A show suitable for everyone aged 6 or over, by The Divine Company. In a single-parent family where the father no longer knows how to deal with his daughter, a nanny who is strict yet fanciful is going to transport the little girl into a magical universe. But it’s really the father who is about to be transformed by Miss Poppins as she awakens the child within him and brings him closer to his daughter. Also on 31 December at 9.00pm, come and share in a grand New Year’s Eve buffet after the show until the clock strikes twelve.

Marciel et le bonheur oblique de la conférence intérieure

To mark the occasion, Marc Hollogne, the brilliant inventor of cinema theatre is surrounded – on the screen – by comedians and French-speaking Swiss celebrities, who will be joined by the loyal accomplices of the Belgian artist. Among other themes, the show will refer to the legendary television programme “La Course autour du Monde”, which has a devoted following throughout the French-speaking world and is noted more specifically for the iconic presence in one of the editions... of Marc Hollogne!

La Vie Parisienne

Comic opera in four acts by Jacques Offenbach (1819-1880), with the Sinfonietta de Lausanne and the Lausanne Opera Choir conducted by Jacques Blanc. Libretto by Henry Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy. Musical director: David Reiland. Director: Waut Koeken. In this opera, Offenbach takes direct aim at the failings of his contemporaries, without recourse to the medium of antiquity in Orpheus in the Underworld, La belle Hélène, or other shifts in time and space. Swedes, Brazilians, Parisians, artisans, bourgeois or aristocrats, everyone is in Paris to indulge in champagne, parties and fancy dress, carried away by the series of well-known songs by Offenbach in this opera.

Romeo and Juliet, or something like it…

Based on William Shakespeare, with Laurence Morisot, Damien Naïmi, Jean-Luc Borgeat, Frédéric Gérard and Kaya Güner. The true, humorous story of Romeo and Juliet finally at Théâtre Boulimie! Adaptation and direction: Kaya Güner and Frédéric Gérard. Half the proceeds of the performance on 31 December will be donated to the Association Sentinelles (www.sentinelles.org).

Avrac on Tour

The AvrAcAvAbrAc troupe is warming up for a series of dramatic improvisations. Made up of a dozen girls and boys from all backgrounds, the troupe gets together twenty or so times a year to take to the stages of café-theatres in the Lausanne region and produce a show that really is a breath of fresh air. With Vincent Kucholl, Vincent Veillon, Didier Charlet and, on an alternating basis, Christophe Auer, Sébastien Blanc, Lionel Caille, Cécile Collet, Pierrick Destraz, Viviane Deurin, Virginie Lièvre, Laurence Scheurer, Pascal Schopfer, Antonio Troilo.
Ensemble choral Voix de Lausanne - Grand Nouvel An 2016

At 6pm in Eglise Saint-Laurent, “Concert & Champagne” with Benjamin Righetti (organ and piano), Tassilo Jüdt (saxophone), Jérôme Berney (percussion) and the Choral Ensemble Voix de Lausanne. A concert that will take you on a journey from classical to jazz, taking in musical comedy, gospel and music from around the world. Tickets on the door. At 8.30pm in the Salle des Fêtes at Casino de Montbenon, New Year’s Eve dinner, surprises and dancing featuring DJ Presciglia Zizzari. The ticket for the New Year’s Eve dinner also covers free admission to the concert at 6.00pm. Reservation obligatory for the New Year’s Eve dinner.
