The new season is all about a celebration of opera. The Lausanne Opera is putting on more than thirty concerts, including seven opera productions and featuring a stellar array of great performers: Olga Peretyatko, performing her first Traviata; Anne-Catherine Gillet, making her debut in Lausanne in the role of Manon; and the wonderful Anna Bonitatibus in her first rendition of Rossini’s Tancredi. It is also an opportunity for you to rediscover the Magic Flute in Pet Halmen’s magnificent original production conducted by Diego Fasolis… with the delightful role of Pamina sung by Italian soprano Grazia Doronzio.
Two exceptional world premieres
- The event commemorating 70 years since the disappearance of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry will be celebrated with a world premiere of The Little Prince commissioned from composer Michaël Levinas, as part of an exceptional co-production between the Grand Théâtre de Genève and the Lausanne Opera, a first of its kind.
- A second world premiere featuring, for the first time at the Lausanne Opera, the Ensemble InterContemporain and two stars of dance: Saburo Teshigawara and Nicolas.
