«Some shade on our pavements»: the trees that line the streets of Lausanne
Guided tours
Lausanne, which is known as a green city, possesses many parks and promenades. In addition, some 10,000 trees of different indigenous and exotic species line its squares, avenues and streets. Often little known, they offer pedestrians pleasure, shade and oxygen.
This tour, which has no scientific pretensions, illustrates the diversity of the city's tree stock, includes some particularly unusual species or specimens and teaches us to admire the trees in our streets, bringing them to life for us.
