With water as its theme for this year, Lausanne gives us the chance to view our developed landscape and the diverse elements that fashion it, from the point of view of water
So essential to life, water has not only fashioned Lausanne’s landscape, but it has also been a significant factor in its industrial development since the end of the Middle Ages.
Three guided tours along the waterways of Lausanne reveal the presence of water in Lausanne
Lausanne, CGN, boats and men…
Lake Geneva marks the border between two countries and three cantons. A legendary institution in Lake Geneva’s heritage, the General Navigation Company (CGN) on Lake Geneva has been sailing across this vast stretch of water since 1873, the year the company was founded. Special events will be held onboard the five Edwardian sailing boats to celebrate this unique heritage.
