Is Lausanne Tourisme & Congress Bureau a PCO?

Lausanne Tourisme et Bureau des Congrès is a body officially appointed by the city to promote the destination of Lausanne, as well as a PCO that is able to deal with the arrangements for your congress from A to Z. We do not just manage accommodation and/or social activities, though: over the years we have also acquired administrative and secretarial expertise (see our  references). Différents Different levels of service are available (see our  services).

How long does it take from the nearest airport to the centre of Lausanne?

45 minutes by train (direct train service from Geneva airport, 4 per hour).

Is your office in charge of the science programme?

No, that is not within our competence. Having said that, the presence of several  international higher education institutions, means that eminent specialists from the scientific community may have some involvement in a convention.

Is it possible to deduct VAT?

This depends on the individual circumstances. A request must be submitted to the competent authorities.

Is Switzerland subject to any visa restrictions?

The citizens of certain countries require a visa to be able to enter Switzerland. You will find the  list here.

Is there a special transport card for delegates?

Yes, thanks to the city of Lausanne Transport Card, anyone staying in a hotel in Lausanne enjoys free travel on public transport in Lausanne during their stay (maximum 2 weeks).

Do I need an electric adapter to operate my IT equipment in Lausanne?

The TYPE C plug (CEE 7/16 = Europlug) is the most commonly used in Switzerland. It is made up of two round 4mm pins (cylindrical) 14 mm apart and a flat body. You will find  more information here.
