The building heritage is the raw material of the city. It allows us to see the various moments of its history: expansion and contraction, spiritual and cultural life, aristocratic and bourgeois prosperity, the industrial and technical revolutions, etc. This section draws attention to this precious means of interpretation. It presents a selection of 60 structures built between the Middle Ages and the 21st century which reveal the city’s history. Architectural quality, historical importance, the role placed in the city landscape and diversity among architects have guided our selection. Please feel free to add your own references or future discoveries.
