| | Major priority given to the economy and to housingThe principal projects of the 2006-2011 legislature have to do with the city's economic development involving, in particular, the construction of 3000 housing units, the launching of urban marketing and of city management. These priority portfolios are handled within restructured municipal departments. For the 2006-2011 legislature, the municipal councillors agreed on reorganising the municipal departments and modified the city's administration (on 24 April 2006). These decisions were officially approved on 20 June 2006, during the first meeting of the new municipality, immediately following the swearing-in ceremony of the city's new public officials. |

7 departments and 41 services for 4475 associates Given the fundamental importance that the Municipality of Lausanne has given to its housing portfolio, the Executive decided to create a strong structure by reorganising the housing and real-estate departments into the Housing and Management Service. This new department is headed by Silvia Zamora, who is responsible for culture, housing and heritage. Sports, as in the past, have been placed in the Public-Security Department. Other changes: international relations and the organisation of events (music festival, bands, etc.) have been moved from the Municipal Secretariat and are now handled by the SEGRE and by the Culture Department, respectively. In addition, for reasons of economy, the General Secretariat for Social Security and the Environment has been disbanded and its tasks divided among the other administrative departments. Municipal delegations
The municipal, analysis- and decision-making delegations, given the responsibility of following up the priority portfolios, have been strengthened. The four major changes are: creation of the housing delegation, headed by Silvia Zamora; members: Olivier Français, Jean-Christophe Bourquin and Jean-Yves Pidoux; major restructuring of the economic delegation, presided over by the mayor, Daniel Brélaz; members: Marc Vuilleumier, Olivier Français and Silvia Zamora; major-project delegation, presided over by the mayor, Daniel Brélaz; members: Olivier Français and Silvia Zamora; creation of the climate delegation, headed by Olivier Français; members: Jean-Yves Pidoux and the mayor, Daniel Brélaz.
The five other delegations are: security, prevention and education; social; computerisation; real estate; and human-resources management.
