In 2019, Think Cinema Lausanne (Rencontres 7e Art Lausanne) brought together major film personalities for its second edition. Joel Coen, Paul Auster, Agnès Jaoui, Matt Dillon and many other filmmakers were present to celebrate cinema and interact with the public on films that have marked the history of cinema. In four days of demonstration, nearly 10,000 spectators came to meet more than 20 international guests to attend 41 screenings and 30 conversations, conferences and round tables. Out of any competition, the Think Cinema Lausanne present with this innovative concept an essential event for a collective reflection on the cinema of yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Think Cinema Lausanne (Rencontres 7e Art Lausanne), founded by Swiss actor, director and photographer Vincent Perez is for its second edition welcoming renowned guests and screening over forty films that have marked the history cinema. Over 4 days, Think Cinema Lausanne celebrates cinema and its makers. The public will be able to (re)discover groundbreaking films at Pathé cinemas and the Swiss Film Archive and attend conversations with acclaimed directors, actors, producers, composers, authors and other industry professionals at among others, the écal, EJMA and at the iconic Capitole theater. Thanks to the support of key partners (BNP Paribas, Beau-Rivage Palace, Pathé, Banque Piguet Galland, Kering, Nespresso, Renault, City of Lausanne, Cinémathèque suisse, Pax, Ciné +), to the active involvement of Lausanne’s universities, and the participation of large audiences, Think Cinema makes for a collective experience to reflect on cinema and promote film culture.

Think Cinema Lausanne is once again welcoming renowned filmmakers whose acclaimed works have inspired our collective imagination. During it’s second edition, the public was able to meet these influential filmmakers by attending their public conversations and join us in movie theaters to (re)discover their films.
