For this 2017 year-end, Lausanne Tourisme is launching a charm offensive. Blog trips, competition and Instameet, the tourist office wishes to develop yet further the Olympic Capital’s leisure sector by building on two flagship events: Bô Noël and Lausanne Lumières.
While Lausanne is high in the ranking of destinations for the organisations of congresses and events, the tourist office wishes to promote further the town as a leisure destination. By building on two major events, Bô Noël and the Festival Lausanne Lumières, Lausanne Tourisme positions the town as a destination of choice for a weekend during the festive season.
Lausanne Tourisme’s promotional activities in preparation for the year-end festivities started during the month of October with the launch of a competition created in collaboration with the social media agency We Like Travel. A first activity that aimed at working on Lausanne’s notoriety on the French market by presenting the Olympic Capital’s various assets, with a stay in a 5-star hotel to be won.
To follow that, Lausanne Tourisme will welcome at the end of November and beginning of December three blog trips from France, Italy and Great Britain. Unique experiences such as Bô Noël and Lausanne Lumières, as well as a discovery of the town’s unmissable spots are planned. Welcoming these bloggers will enable the tourist office to present the destination’s strengths and to unveil the magic that takes hold of the streets of Lausanne at that time of the year.
During the month of December, Lausanne Tourisme will also take part in the organisation of the 4th Lausanne Lumières Instameet in collaboration with IGersLausanne. This event will be the opportunity for instagrammers to discover the stories hidden behind each of the Festival’s light installations and to immortalise the town and its lights.
“The different promotional activities that will be implemented for Lausanne Tourisme during this year-end are part of a campaign aiming to develop yet further the destination’s presence on the web and social media, and to position Lausanne as an unmissable destination for a city break in Europe” explain Tanja Dubas, Head of Sales & Marketing, and Emmanuelle Rose, Head of the Digital Department.
