La Cité

ArchitectureHistoryHeritageShopping
This is a quarter full of typical small bistros and craft shops. To the north of the Cité hill, at Place du Tunnel, avenue César-Roux avenue and Place de l’Ours, shops and quirky bistros cry out to be discovered. It is around the Cité hill, sculpted by the Flon and Louve rivers, that the mediaeval town grew. Its cobble-stoned pedestrian streets as well as its monuments, the Cathedral of Lausanne, the St-Maire Castle and the Old academy, bear witness to that.

“Ours” metro exit, towards the town centre; and there, on your left, nestling between buildings at the top of the big stairway, a stunning view on the lake and mountains is revealed! I love to admire this so peaceful landscape. And on the way back, I just have to drop in to admire the pretty Ké Ta La boutique… and its gems!

For a short shopping break, here’s an address to remember! Nestled just above Place de l’Ours, you’ll find Kétala Boutique and its boudoir style. The window display is enticing, and you can’t resist walking inside. There, you’ll find clothing, shoes, objects, jewellery, stationery, etc. by small creators. Go and take a look, you’ll tell me what you think!
