More info

ECAL (Lausanne University of Art and Design) was founded in 1821 and is currently headed by Alexis Georgacopoulos. It offers courses of study at bachelor and master level in the field of visual communication, art and design. The quality of its teaching and its international reputation make the ECAL one of the most prestigious schools on the global art and design scene. This is why around 600 students representing more than 40 nationalities choose this institution for their course of study.

The ECAL showcases its work all over the world at trade shows, exhibitions and conferences, as well as the Pompidou Centre in Paris, Cooper Union in New York and Design Days in Dubai. Events such as these are a way of promoting the work done by students on the one hand and raising the profile of the school on the other, whilst coming face to face with the approaches of other artists. Thanks to its extensive network of partners and the purchase of works by prestigious museums such as the Victoria and Albert Museum of London, ECAL has become a key artistic player.

Famous artists have studied at ECAL, such as designer Julie Richoz who works for Alessi and Louis Vuitton, photographer Namsa Leuba, nominated for the Foam Talent Award, as well as artist Nicolas Party.
