An aperitive platter is served with a glass of wine or a soft drink at the Brasserie de Montbenon anytime from 11 am to 10.30 pm. This restaurant, very well known to Lausanners, offers a unique view over the Alps and Lake Geneva, as well as one of the most beautiful terraces in town.
The main dish is served from 11.45 am to 1.45 pm at the Café du Grütli, an authentic bistro chosen among Lausanne’s historical bars and restaurants. Here, dishes are prepared essentially from fresh, local, market products, following the seasons. A special menu awaits children under 12 for the main dish!
For dessert, choose a “tartelette à la raisinée” (a sweet tart with pear or apple juice boiled down to a thick syrup) or a carac (a sweet tart filled with a chocolate ganache) to take away from the renowned Maison BUET patisserie. Its shop at rue Grand-St-Jean 6 is open from Monday to Friday from 6 am to 6.30 pm and on Saturday from 6 am to 6 pm.
Our suggestion
You may start with a lunch at the Café du Grütli, then in the afternoon – while shopping in the city – reward yourself with a little break enjoying a pastry at Maison BUET. Finally you can finish your tour with a platter in the early evening on the terrace of the Brasserie de Montbenon!
