Marithé, the shooting star

I was born 20 years ago in Morges, but we moved to the northern area of Lausanne before I could even speak. I attended various schools in the city such as Béthusy and the Belvédère. I have been a member of the Lausanne Sport Athlétisme club since I was 13 and have become a regular at the Pontaise Stadium. I pursue higher education at the Gymnase de Beaulieu (Beaulieu High School) together with a professional career as an athlete. I am an international high jumper who loves to travel, have fun, cook and is constantly on the lookout for a place that serves a good meal!
« For me, Lausanne is home. It’s the place I really look forward to going back to when I travel abroad for competitions. It’s the place where I grew up. Every corner of this city is linked to a memory that is part of who I am. Lausanne goes up and down… and up again! It’s friendly, it’s the diversity and the mix that I am proud to represent in competition. »
«One of my favourite places in Lausanne is Mon-Repos Park. I grew up in the northern part of town and when I attended Bethusy School, Mon-Repos Park was a sacred spot. It is located close to Rue Marterey and its many excellent restaurants. It was our favourite spot for lunch when the weather was good and our favourite meeting place after classes. I grew up in that park and I still really appreciate it to this day.»

«The Olympic Stadium is one of my favourite places in Lausanne. I have been training there since I was 13 and I feel quite at home in that arena. When the stadium is full, whether for a football match or a concert, the atmosphere is fantastic! For me, the Athletissima meeting is an event everyone who lives in Lausanne should attend at least once.»

«It’s a meeting place for foodies. The many unique ice cream flavours that are served in that gelateria give us food for thought and create quite a gathering at Boulevard de Grancy when the weather is hot.»

«After the Haldimand Tower, there is a small peaceful pebble beach. Quieter than Ouchy Harbour, it’s an ideal spot for a picnic and a dip in the lake.»
