This exhibition brings together some thirty artists from different generations to provide an overview of contemporary figurative painting in Switzerland. The works on display, rich in a variety of references (Japanese manga, American series, digital culture, feminist podcasts), draw freely on popular culture, current political and social events, and the artists' own personal experiences. The result is a new iconography in which intuition and emotion predominate, deliberately ignoring the boundaries between high and low culture.

In addition to works by contemporary artists, the exhibition highlights Swiss and international figures who have influenced the imagination and practice of the artists in the exhibition. These works, generously loaned, enrich the visual dialogue while anchoring this new generation in the continuity and history of contemporary painting.

With the participation of Yann Bisso, Carine Bovey, Seline Burn, Elise Corpataux, Romane de Watteville, Andriu Deplazes, Klodin Erb, Émilienne Farny, Valérie Favre, Louisa Gagliardi, Vidya Gastaldon, Silvia Gertsch, Cecile Giovannini, Irma Ineichen, Lucie Kohler, Zilla Leutenegger, Elisabeth Llach, Rachel Lumsden, Line Marquis, Andrea Muheim, Claudia & Julia Müller, Elias Njima, Noemi Pfister, Leanne Picthall, Maria Pomiansky, Rita Siegfried, Inga Steffens, Laura Thiong-Toye, Mariana Tilly and Caroline Tschumi.

And with works by Nina Childress, Miriam Cahn, Fernand Léger, Caroline Bachmann, Man Ray, …
