The paradise for (young) foodies

Taking Lausanne on will work up quite an appetite, so for a snack with the sweet flavour of childhood, head to one of Lausanne's traditional bakeries for a tasty pain au lait with a chocolate filling. By the lake, the Restaurant of the Olympic Museum is the perfect place to have brunch or savour a tasty meal with a view. As for the Chalet-des-Enfants, it has never deserved its name more, what with local and scrumptious dishes, a large garden, a vegetable garden, a chicken coop and a fab playground that bring joy to children … and their parents!

In Lausanne, public transport (bus, metro, train) is free for children under the age of 6.

Are some Lausanne museums free?

Every first Saturday of every month, the entrance to the cantonal and town museums in Lausanne is free. This is not the case for the Olympic Museum, and museums that are private and/or not financed by the City of Lausanne.

How can I obtain the Travel Journal?

What is the Lausanne Transport Card?

Visitors staying in a hotel, youth hostel, bed & breakfast or at a campsite where the tourist tax is applied receive the Lausanne Transport Card. This card enables them to use all public transport in Lausanne and its surroundings for free during their whole stay (maximum 15 days).
