For its 18th edition, BDFIL will take place from April 15 to 28, 2024, in the Lausanne train station area, with Tom Tirabosco as guest of honour. BDFIL is also looking forward to welcoming Belgium as the festival’s guest country, as well as everyday super-heroines Aya and Akissi, the City of Lausanne’s Comic-Strip Centre, illustrator Vamille and order project “Rire en plan(ches)”.

As novelties of the festival, two exhibition cycles will complete the initial programme: an exhibition on comic-strip professions that focuses on colourists, and a highlighting of the creation process beginning with Krel and his “Banana Split” project.

To sum it up, there will be 10 exhibitions, lively and festive weekends and highly colourful nights. Plus one annual theme - humour - that will be revealed in the town of Lausanne at the end of spring, since comic strips are to be celebrated all year round!
