What to do in Lausanne in November?

During the month of November, we’re in cosy mode in Lausanne: between relaxing days at the spa, shopping sessions and tasty patisseries at tea time, we know how to enjoy this time of the year by indulging in small pleasures and pampering ourselves. Not to forget the festivals and many activities that warm up our weekends and brighten our evenings.

Our November bucket list

Activating cocooning mode and treating ourselves to a day at the spa

The reputation of Lausanne as a healthcare centre goes hand in hand with a broad range of services to enhance the well being of guests. Several small establishments offer some facilities (sauna, hammam, fitness centres and other ways of reducing stress), but the city’s two palace hotels provide what can only be called true paradises of wellness.

Building up our abs thanks to the comedians at the Montreux Comedy Festival

Due to works at the Montreux Congress Centre, the largest French-speaking comedy festival will take place at the Théâtre de Beaulieu in Lausanne for its next two editions, in 2023 and 2024. As usual, the festival will welcome both stars of the genre and new talents. A good occasion to warm up at the beginning of winter!

Taking refuge in a warm and cosy place, and devouring the best patisseries in Lausanne

There’s something very comforting about enjoying a cup of tea and a slice of cake in a cosy space surrounded by others doing exactly the same. Luckily, in Lausanne, this isn’t hard to find. The city’s love for le tea room has resulted in a huge array of places to sip a speciality brew – or a cappuccino or a hot chocolate, if you prefer – while indulging in a sweet treat that’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Discovering the impressive Vaud Zoology Museum, not forgetting to leave in time to avoid a remake of Night at the Museum

The Vaud Zoology Museum has occupied the neo-Florentine building of the Palais de Rumine in the centre of Lausanne since 1909. The south wing includes animals from around the world, notably the biggest stuffed great white shark in the world, weighing in at 5.89 metres!

Spending a relaxing, musical moment by attending the JazzOnze Festival

36th edition – In more than 30 years of existence, the JazzOnze+ Festival Lausanne has earned its place among the best jazz festivals in Switzerland and Europe. Its uncompromising and cutting-edge programming allows the festival to welcome the world’s greatest jazz musicians in Lausanne.

Making the most of a rainy day by setting off on a shopping outing without feeling guilty
