Since 1904, every 31 December at midnight, Lausanne Cathedral has been illuminated thanks to the “Amis de la Cité”. Every year, this tradition brings the people of Lausanne together on the Cathedral Esplanade to celebrate the arrival of the New Year in a spirit of joy, togetherness and hope.
