ETRAN DE L'AÏR (NG)Desert blues, hypnotic rock
Founded in 1995 in Agadez, Niger, Etran de L’Aïr is a family collective that has become a key figure in contemporary Saharan music. Descendants of northern Niger wedding bands, the group delivers sunny and festive music driven by hypnotic guitars, intoxicating solos, and irresistible rhythms. Their repertoire draws from northern Mali blues, Hausa orchestras, and Congolese soukous, while following the tradition of Tuareg blues popularized by Tinariwen, Tamikrest, and Mdou Moctar.
