The Final Countdown – 40th Anniversary Tour

Europe celebrates 40 years of The Final Countdown. On Monday, October 12, 2026, the Swedish rock legends will perform at Sallé Metropole Lausanne for an evening that revisits rock history while looking to the future.

The Canadian band The Damn Truth, known internationally for its energetic retro rock, will be the special guest of the evening.

With the album The Final Countdown, Europe entered music history in 1986. The title track reached number one in 25 countries and remains one of the most famous rock anthems worldwide, with over one billion views on YouTube. Four singles reached the Top 40 and the album spent more than 60 weeks on the US Billboard charts, highlighting its iconic status that remains intact after four decades.

The entire album was recorded at the legendary Powerplay Studios in Maur, about 50 minutes from Zurich, adding a special character to this concert.

Europe has planned something special for the anniversary tour: fans will experience a musical journey through the band's career. Expect a full live performance of The Final Countdown album, well-known hits, and for the first time, songs from the upcoming twelfth studio album to be released in 2026.

Lead singer Joey Tempest expressed anticipation for the anniversary concerts: "Forty years have passed in the blink of an eye. It is great to perform this album live in full, with the big hits and new songs. A special show is being prepared for a special occasion."
