Age: All ages are welcome, though it is recommended for children aged 7 and over. VR experiences are not permitted for children under 7. Children aged 7 to 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Imagine yourself in Pompeii, in the year 79 AD. Suddenly, Vesuvius erupts with a deafening roar, sending a huge column of ash and rocks shooting into the sky. Within a few hours, a scorching rain covers the streets, houses and temples, whilst the inhabitants desperately try to flee. Pyroclastic flows swept through the city, destroying everything in their path and burying Pompeii under several metres of ash and volcanic debris. In just a few hours, a thriving city vanished beneath the rubble, preserving the houses, objects and traces of life of its inhabitants for nearly two millennia.
As well as information panels and a selection of original artefacts from the period, alongside faithful replicas of objects discovered in Pompeii (sculptures, glassware, household items and medical equipment), visitors will be transported into the streets of the city, right into the heart of its inhabitants’ daily lives, right up to the final moments before and after the eruption of Vesuvius, thanks to a 360° projection room (700 m² of projected images). In another room, visitors will find themselves right in the Colosseum, watching a gladiatorial combat and a naval battle from the arena, through an original, seated virtual reality experience.
An interactive metaverse will also allow everyone to explore the legendary “Villa des Mystères” and discover the daily lives of the inhabitants of Pompeii as they move from room to room. At the end of the tour, an AI-powered photo installation will allow visitors to take home their own portrait as a Roman citizen, whilst a graffiti wall will give children the chance to leave their mark with drawings and messages on “Roman murals”.
