From dizzying amphitheatres and immense circuses to richly decorated theatres, the captivating world of ancient performance is brought to life in an exhibition now on display at the Roman Villa in Pully, following its huge success at Lugdunum - Musée et théâtres romains de Lyon.
Visit the ancient theatres, meet the stars of the games, and discover the behind-the-scenes world and legacy of these forms of entertainment that symbolise the power of Roman civilisation. At the heart of this tour, the large fresco depicting the charioteer at the Roman Villa in Pully comes to life through a new installation designed to bring the fascinating circus games that took place there back to life.
The exhibition forms part of the “La Villa dans tous ses états” cultural season, dedicated to ancient games and performances, and is accompanied by a programme of fun and varied events, enhanced by numerous partnerships.
