La Grappe d’Or is in a splendid historic building in the Bourg district of Lausanne. It offers a relaxed Italian-type atmosphere and meals full of the flavours from the French-Italian Alpine regions that have received 12 GaultMillau points.
Located in Cheneau-de-Bourg, the building from the 15th century is representative for this friendly Lausanne neighbourhood. After flirting with gastronomic absolutes and wining and dining stars and crowned heads, La Grappe d’Or fell somewhat into oblivion. Its reopening with Chef Théotime Bioret, the former chef of the famous Le Cinq restaurant, was therefore eagerly awaited as the gastronomic event of the year. And gourmets are not disappointed! With its rather original transalpine cuisine “from Vintimille to Venice”, the menu card invites the guests to enjoy an eating experience as in Italy, with affordable antipasti and primi piatti. The meats of the secondi piatti are cooked to perfection thanks to a broiler that is visible from the dining room. On the beverage side, the talent of manager Laurent Bigler is reflected in the beautiful wine cellar and the vast selection of gins and tonics served at a large bar.
