The legendary Georgian National Ballet Sukhishvili has embodied artistic excellence, strength of spirit, and boundless energy for over 80 years. As the first and original Georgian national dance company, Sukhishvili represents authentic Georgian culture without equal worldwide. Founded in 1945 by Iliko and Nino Sukhishvili, the company is now led by the third generation of the family, the founders' grandchildren. This dynasty has preserved and enriched its traditions, making Sukhishvili a true emblem of Georgian art and cultural heritage. For eight decades, Sukhishvili has amazed millions of spectators in over 100 countries across five continents, performing on the world's most prestigious stages, from the Metropolitan Opera in New York to La Scala in Milan. International press has called it the "Eighth Wonder of the World" (The New York Times) and a "Storm on Stage" (Daily Telegraph), while Le Figaro noted an energy capable of raising an entire audience. The show is a true explosion of emotions: virtuosic male dances, breathtaking acrobatics, dizzying jumps, and swirling sabres blend with female choreography marked by elegance, grace, and nobility. The famous male pointe dance, a signature of Sukhishvili, remains an unmatched technical feat. The visual splendor is equally exceptional: costumes made from natural materials are adorned with silk embroidery, stones, and metallic decorations. The live orchestra creates a unique musical universe with rare traditional instruments and ancestral techniques passed down through generations. Sukhishvili is more than a show. It is a celebration of history, pride, beauty, and extraordinary vital energy—an experience that remains in the hearts of spectators long after the curtain falls.
