Promenade de la Ficelle

It was the construction of the m2 metro that gave rise to this exceptional green space, which traces the route of the underground line. The Promenade de la Ficelle (String Walk), also known as Coulée verte (Green Course), is a unique link between the station and the lake.
Tourists are sometimes surprised at its name, but that's because they are unfamiliar with La Ficelle, the little rack railway that linked Ouchy and Flon before the m2 was launched. Since the latter traces the route of its predecessor and the walk passes over the underground lines, it seemed to be a fitting tribute to the old metro.
