Collection de l'Art Brut

FamilyCulture

A quintessential museum in Lausanne's cultural landscape, the Collection de l'Art Brut captivates and fascinates with every visit. Housed in an elegant old manor house, the collection reveals a unique artistic universe, created outside the traditional circuits. Here, there is no academic training or aesthetic conventions: the works on display are the work of passionate self-taught artists, guided by a raw, intimate and often stirring creativity. It's a fascinating insight into the authenticity of human expression, and a must-see.

The refurbishment undertaken between 2019 and 2022 succeeded in preserving this iconic building in the city of Lausanne while at the same time modernising it to meet the very latest demands.

In its new form, the Théâtre de Beaulieu hosts a wide range of entertainment from Switzerland and abroad. Humour, dance, plays, musical comedies, concerts and improvisations: its varied eclectic range throughout the seasons means there is something that appeals to every type of audience.

Among the unmissable programmes, the theatre welcomes the Béjart Ballet Lausanne, the Prix de Lausanne International Dance Competition, the Lausanne season of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande as well as La Paternelle’s children’s show.
