The bourgeois charm of the neighbourhood under the train station is rather cliché. Nevertheless, you have to admit the area (which is also mine) possesses some indisputable qualities, such as the ice-cream parlour Loom that offers dozens of flavours as unlikely as they are irresistible.

When the summer heat gets intense, it’s essential for me to eat my favourite ice cream at the loom gelateria. A mouthful of their delicious flavours and you’re transported directly to Italy!

Alongside the classic flavours of its handmade frozen treats, loom regularly offers new ice-cream and sorbet seasonal taste sensations, such as Valais apricot in summer or “raisinée” pear syrup and gingerbread in winter. Cinnamon remains irresistible for me!

It’s a meeting place for foodies. The many unique ice cream flavours that are served in that gelateria give us food for thought and create quite a gathering at Boulevard de Grancy when the weather is hot.
More info
This gelateria is to be found in the Boulevard de Grancy close to Lausanne station. All the products are hand-crafted from milk pasteurised by the owners - something which guarantees quality, texture and flavour. Their sorbets are made mostly from fresh, untreated local products which change with the season. Allow yourself to be tempted by the genuine and gourmet flavours of azuki (red beans), siltimur berries, tumeric, “fée verte” (absinthe) or black sesame.
