Here are our top 5 winter activities, accessible from Lausanne, to experience the cold in all its forms, combining fun, wonder and authenticity. 

1. Hiking in the snowy landscapes of Les Paccots

Fancy a getaway in nature just a short distance from the city? Les Paccots is the perfect place for a winter walk through the forests, mountain pastures and breathtaking panoramas.

2. Fun guaranteed at the Tobogganing Park in Leysin

Forget everything else and just have fun! The Tobogganing Park in Leysin is a must for both young and old. Make yourself comfortable on an air -cushioned tube, take a step back and launch yourself down the craziest slopes in the Vaud Alps.

3. Night sledging in Les Diablerets, a thrilling experience under the moonlight

Sledging under the stars? Yes, it’s possible! Every Thursday evening from 25 December to 19 March, the Diablerets Express cable car takes you to the start of a 7.2 km track, which you can hurtle down in the moonlight or by the light of your head torch. 

A magical atmosphere is guaranteed: the snow-covered forest, the silence of the night and the thrill of the descent. And to prolong the pleasure, end the evening with a fondue at the summit or a well-deserved mulled wine at the arrival point. An experience to be enjoyed at least once in your life ! 

4. Dog sleigh ride at Col des Mosses

Head for the Far North… or almost! At Col des Mosses, let yourself be pulled by a carriage of polar dogs for a magical experience in the heart of the Vaud Alps. 

Amidst pristine landscapes and the silence of the great outdoors, this activity is a true immersion into the world of mushers. Whether you opt for a first-time sleigh ride or an introduction to dogsledding, the connection between man, nature and the animals makes this an unforgettable experience.

5. Mont-Fort zipline in Verbier — the adrenalin rush at 3,330 m
