To give new life to clothes and accessories is not only trendy, but also a lifestyle that we have embraced for a number of years and that we never tire of. In addition to unearthing original and unique items that add a touch of daring to our wardrobes without breaking the bank, we are addressing an ever more urgent ecological concern. We are lucky as Lausanne compares very well with the great fashion capitals when it comes to second-hand and vintage boutiques, as the following addresses where we often go will show. For sure, regularity is the key to catch unique and outstanding items.

Le Dressing

Men, women, children

A luxury consignment shop, it has many brand pieces, as well as some from lesser-known creators. All items are carefully selected by Sébastien, with very regular arrivals and personalised advice. Anyone who loves to rummage around to find beautiful pieces suiting any occasion is sure to find their heart’s desire. The price of some items is quite high, but by taking the time to search, you can also track down very affordable gems. An address not to be missed if you’re in Lausanne.

Chabada Vintage

Women

A superb selection of colourful or chic vintage items (95% of items are over 20 years old), of lovely quality (many hand sewn) at very decent prices, with as a bonus the advice and stories of Murielle, the guardian of the boutique, who loves looks of another age.

Throwback Vintage

Men, women

Thrift shop. Items that are vintage (dating from the 1950s to 2000, many from the 1990s), unmissable (Levi’s jeans and shorts, men’s shirts, sweatshirts, fleeces, …) for small budgets, with very regular arrivals. The owners travel across the globe to source pieces and offer a selection both original and distinctive.

Finest Vintage

Men, women

We met Alberto in his first Finest Vintage boutique in Renens, which recently closed to move to the centre of Lausanne at Rue Caroline 5 as from November 4, 2021. This Spanish teacher, a lover of flea markets since he was a young child, has made a dream come true by opening this shop where we find proper vintage, quality items that he has meticulously hunted for and selected. Each quest at Finest Vintage takes place on a vinyl musical background suited to the time of day or the owner’s mood. Much more than just a hunt for bargains, it’s a true experience that propels us into the years 1930 to 1970, depending on the piece of clothing we’re trying on.
